NextGen is a City-certified minority- and woman-owned business enterprise (M/WBE) founded in 1997 by President/CEO Maria del Carmen Jacob. NextGen provides temporary information technology staff to Fortune 500 companies in St. Louis and across the nation. Headquartered in Downtown St. Lois, NextGen generates more than $40 million in revenues and 300 employees in six cities in the U.S. and India.

Minority Business Spotlight Receptions are hosted by the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) to recognize M/WBEs for their achievements and as a networking opportunity for M/WBEs and large companies to build stronger relationships that will be mutually beneficial to each other and to the City. SLDC is the City's economic development agency.
