ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY'S TV TALK SERIES WELCOMES HOUSE OF CARDS DIRECTOR JOE "MAMA" MASON

The St. Louis Public Library is proud to welcome St. Louis native and media personality Joe "Mama" Mason as the guest speaker at the final Spring 2014 installment of its series, TV Talk: The Book Club for TV People.  The program takes place at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street, on April 28 at 7 p.m.  The event is FREE and open to the public.  Seating is first-come, first-served.

Mason will share a presentation and answer questions about his work on House of Cards. He was the second-unit director of Season 2/Episode 3 of the popular Netflix political series.

Mason helped the Los Angeles-based production team locate and select an appropriate setting for the episode, which was shot in St. Louis. He also worked closely with a senior producer and the production team in L.A. and coordinated with the show's writer. The segments were shot with a 4K digital cinema camera owned by Mason's production company, Illustrated Man.

Joe Mason's directing credits include programs that have aired on ABC Family, Animal Planet, CNN, Discovery, Discovery Health, the Travel Channel, Turner, and VH-1. His television credits also include national commercials for Ocean Spray and Sea-Doo. He began his career in St. Louis radio, quickly becoming a popular on-air personality at KSHE and KSD-FM.
