POETRY, POISON AND PRODUCTION ARE PART OF ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY'S AUTHORS @ YOUR LIBRARY JULY LINEUP

The St. Louis Public Library's Authors @ Your Library series is proud to present three July author events that feature a little poetry, poison and the popular comic crowd.

Bridget Fogarty discusses and signs her first book of poetry, Where My Heart has Always Been, July 9 at 11 a.m. at the Baden Branch, 8448 Church Road. A longtime Library user and Baden resident, Fogarty spent many hours at the Branch as a youngster where she developed a love of reading and writing poetry.

Local Sisters in Crime authors Fedora Amis and Judy Moresi, with Wendy Applequist, associate curator of the William L. Brown Center of the Missouri Botanical Garden, discuss The Poison in Poisoned Pens, an informative talk about how mystery authors decide what poison to use when they choose to dispose of a character in that vein, on July 9 at 3 p.m. at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street. Discover whether or not those poisonous plants and concoctions really work. You just might get a new view of the "killer contents" of your own home or garden!

Amis is the author of Jack the Ripper in St. Louis and Mayhem at Buffalo Bill's Wild West. Moresi authored Tribal Fires and Widow's Walk.

Acclaimed Broadway producer and New York Times bestselling author Vivek Tiwary delivers the 2ndAnnual Mini-Comic Con Keynote Address "The Color of Dreams: Breaking down Ethnic Barriers in the Arts & Entertainment" on July 30 at 1 p.m. at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street.

Tiwary produced 2004's Tony-winning production of A Raisin in the Sun and the Greenday rock opera American Idiot.  He is also the author of the graphic novel, The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story, which is now in production as a television miniseries with Tiwary as writer and executive producer. The book, based on the untold life story of Beatles' manager Brien Epstein, has won numerous awards including the Wil Eisner Comic Industry Award for Best Reality Based Work.
