St. Louis Public Library Foundation Elects New Board Leadership

Lawrence K. Otto to serve as chair

The St. Louis Public Library Foundation has elected Lawrence K. Otto, Missouri President for U.S. Bank, as chair; Andreas Wolf, Vice President and General Manager at Young Dental, to serve as vice-chair; Deborah J. Patterson, retired President of the Monsanto Fund, as secretary; and Lee Rodgers, President at Select Publications, as treasurer.

Jean-Paul Montupet served as chair of Foundation's Board of Trustees for the last four years.

"Jean-Paul has done an extraordinary job leading the Foundation to complete a successful capital campaign, which supported the $70 million restoration and revitalization of Central Library and the following strategic planning that has placed the Foundation in a position to support the Library as it moves forward," said Liz Reeves, Director of the St. Louis Public Library Foundation.

Lawrence K. Otto joined the St. Louis Public Library Foundation Board in 2011 and was elected vice-chair in 2015. He has more than three decades of banking experience in the region. Otto joined U.S. Bank from Bank of America, where he served as president for St. Louis and Missouri and gained extensive commercial banking and wealth management experience in many leadership roles.

Andreas Wolf has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees since 2014. Prior to joining Young Dental in 2014, he held several positions with Novas including Director of Mergers and Acquisitions and Global Business Director of Minerals and Antioxidants.

Deborah J. Patterson joined the Foundation in 2013. Before retiring from Monsanto Fund in March 2016, she was responsible for creating several signature programs in education, including MySci in St. Louis and Buhle Farmers Academy in the Republic of South Africa.

Lee Rodgers has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees since 2007. He has owned and operated a more than $4 million St. Louis publication business for over 19 years and employs a staff of 50 people.

In addition to electing new officers, the Foundation elected two new trustees;  Carolyn Farrell and Laura Shaughnessy and re-elected the following trustees to three-year terms:  Deborah Dolgin, Julian Edison, Judy Harris, Michael Kahn, Jean-Paul Montupet, Deborah Patterson, Lee Rodgers, Ellen Sherberg, David Sliney and Matt Villa.
