Not So Quiet! Concert Series Kicks Off Ninth Season

ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY'S NOT SO QUIET! CONCERT SERIES KICKS-OFF ITS NINTH SEASON WITH DAVID DEE & THE HOT TRACKS

The St. Louis Public Library is proud to kick-off its ninth season of the NOT SO QUIET! Concert Series, the all-ages concert events which presents exceptional FREE LIVE music every third Thursday in Central Library's Auditorium.

The first band in the lineup is David Dee & The Hot Tracks.  This FREE show takes place in Central's Auditorium on February 18 at 7 p.m.  Seating is first-come, first-served.  Auditorium doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Dee is considered by many to be the reigning Blues king of St. Louis. He has earned the title as bandleader, songwriter, guitarist, entertainer, and singer through 40 plus years of road work, recording, and performing.

Perhaps Dee's most notable work is his hit record Going Fishing, which has been suitably described as a St. Louis Blues anthem. Not to mention Workin Blues Man, a signature David Dee song, known worldwide by thousands of blues fans.

SPRING CONCERTS

  • March 17

Mozingo Rock University (Student Rock Bands)

Three student (ages 7-17) bands play their first gig for an audience with familiar covers and maybe an original song or two. 

  • April 21

Kingdom Brothers (Electric Blues)

St. Louis' hottest electric Blues band delivers original soulful tunes. The quintet credits their unique sound to all the great Blues legends present and past but especially to the powerful, undeniable spirit of gospel music.

  • May 19

River Kittens (Bluegrass)

A trio of pitch-perfect harmonies, River Kittens blend guitar, mandolin, and banjo riffs with original, memorable songwriting. The River Kittens have already shared the bill with the biggest names in St. Louis music such as Pokey LaFargeOld Salt Union, and Beth Bombara.

LIVE ON OLIVE!

Spend warm summer evenings outdoors enjoying great music played against one the city's most spectacular backdrops—Central Library. Bring your lawn chair, blanket, or relax on Central's front steps. Coolers are welcome!

Concerts begin at 7 p.m.*

*Events will move indoors to the Auditorium in case of inclement weather.

  • June 16

Marquise Knox (Blues)

Guitar-playing Knox hails from a musical family entrenched in the Blues. He has performed with some of America's most notable performers such as Blues legends B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins, and David "Honeyboy" Edwards. Knox's debut album, MANCHILD, was nominated for a Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Debut.

Skeet Rodgers & The Inner City Blues Band (Blues)

Considered one of the best Blues bands in St. Louis, Skeet Rodgers & The Inner City Blues Band feature the incredible, substantial voices of Jaycinta "Hi-c" Griffin and Charles "Skeet" Rodgers delivering the passion, the power, and the pain of the Blues like no one else can.

  • August 18

Jeremiah Johnson Band (Mississippi River Blues)

The high energy talent of the Jeremiah Johnson Band, and their devoted connection to a worldwide audience, have made this trio of rockin' blue musicians the 'must see' band of the season. Born in St. Louis and seasoned on the Texas Gulf Coast, Jeremiah Johnson, along with Benet Schaeffer on drums and Jeff Girardier on bass, have toured tirelessly, spreading their brand of electric Blues gospel to the Midwest and beyond.

  • September 15

Steve Pecaro Band (Southern Rock &Blues)

For those who love bluesy guitar solos and hot Southern rock, Steve Pecaro is a St. Louis icon. Each fall, some of St. Louis's hottest guitarists come to the Pageant for the annual Stevie Ray Vaughn Tribute Show, and Steve Pecaro is always the highlight. This show will shake, rattle, and roll.

MAKE AN EVENING OF IT!  During the LIVE ON OLIVE! concerts, Urban Eats Café Central will be on hand to serve tasty goodies, cold drinks, incredible delectables, and sweet treats. An assortment of food trucks will also be on hand. Great music –excellent food –family friendly fun!!

  • October 20

We Bite –A Tribute to The Misfits (Horror Punk)

In their quest to bring an authentic experience to die-hard fans, We Bite attempts to recreate The Misfits perfectly; from the music to the costumes to the makeup. We Bite's love for horror-punk has earned them a fearsome reputation for faithfully reproducing the music and energy of a justifiably iconic band.  Viewer discretion advised.

  • November 17

Undertow---A Tribute to TOOL  (American Rock)

No makeup; no costumes, simply TOOL's best stuff from the 1990s to present day. TOOL's music, their precision, and their power will come alive with devotion and accuracy via Undertow –A Tribute to TOOL, a must see show for casual and die-hard fans alike.

  • December 15

The Ralph Butler Band –Christmas Show (Motown/Holiday Classics)

With over 25 years of experience and more than 7,500 performances, the Ralph Butler Band remains one of the most sought after bands in St. Louis. Blending traditional Motown with today's most popular songs, Butler will combine his wonderful, rich style with many holiday favorites to celebrate the season.
