ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY'S NOT SO QUIET! CONCERT SERIES WELCOMES FAST-RISING ALT / INDIE BAND SLEEPY KITTY TO CENTRAL

The St. Louis Public Library's popular NOT SO QUIET! Concert Series welcomes Sleepy Kittyone of the freshest and fastest rising bands in the Midwest, to Central Library's Auditorium,1301 Olive Street, on August 21 at 7 p.m.  The show is FREE and open to the public.  Seating is first-come, first-served.

Sleepy Kitty formed in late 2008 when drummer Evan Sult met guitarist/singer Paige Brubeck. Both were in bands in Chicago and decided to collaborate on a side project. The result is a delicious mix of post-grunge, jangle rock, garage pop, topped with thickly layered harmonies.

As the Boston Globe noted, "Grimy meets shiny in Sleepy Kitty's music. The duo's chugging drums and crunchy guitars are sweetened by catchy melodies and vocal harmonies that summon memories of 1960s-era girl groups."

Sleepy Kitty has been voted the Riverfront Times 'Best Indie Band for several years running and performed at LouFest and Middle of the Map Fest in 2012 and 2013.

MAKE AN EVENING OF IT! Before the concert, music lovers are encouraged stop by the Auditorium Lobby between 6-7 p.m. to enjoy mouthwatering food and drinks with an ethnic twist from Urban Eats Café Central, the newest addition to Central Library. Sample an eclectic selection of smoothies, coffee & tea, wraps, salads, snacks, and treats. It's the perfect way to satisfy an early evening appetite and get in the mood for tasty tunes!

An all ages concert, Sleepy Kitty's performance is part of the seventh season of the NOT SO QUIET! Concert Series, which presents exceptional FREE live music every third Thursday in Central Library's Auditorium.
