 The Second District Police Business Association held its 21st Annual Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014.  Recognized at the ceremony were the:

Police Officer Wendell Ishmon

Officer Wendell Ishmon was selected by his peers as the 2013 Officer of the Year for the Second District.  Officer Ishmon is an 18-year veteran with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.  He has consistently demonstrated his leadership skills to fellow officers on his platoon and his duties as a Field Training Officer.

During the past year, Officer Ishmon conducted 99 arrest and assists, resulting in 102 felony, misdemeanor, and city ordinances charges.  He also issued more than 160 traffic citations, answered more than 1,640 radio assignments and wrote more than 150 police reports.

Officer Ishmon has only missed one day of work since becoming a member of the Department.  His commitment to duty and to the residents and businesses of the Second District has earned him the title of Officer of the Year for 2013.
