2019 Food for Fines

Pay down your library fines and help those in need

St. Louis Public Library's annual Food for Fines program returns today, July 1 and runs through July 31 at all St. Louis Public Library (SLPL) locations.  

SLPL is again teaming up with the St. Louis Area Foodbank to help fight hunger through this special program. Throughout the month of July, the Library will remove $1 in overdue fines from an adult cardholder's Library account for each non-perishable item donated, up to $25 per account.

Donations cannot be used to pay for lost or damaged materials. Patrons without fines are invited to make a donation as well if they so desire.

Items may be dropped off at any SLPL location during regular hours and include canned goods, personal care items, and other non-perishables.

Needed items include:

Canned tuna, chicken, fruits, beans, soups, veggies, chili, and ravioli
Peanut butter
Jelly
Boxed/bagged rice or pasta products
Condiments/sauces (plastic bottles)
Boxed complete meals
Hot and cold cereal
Powdered milk
Granola bars
Breakfast/snack bars
Crackers
Fruit snacks
Bottled or boxed juice
Mac and Cheese
Instant mashed potatoes
Baby food (plastic containers)
Baby formula
Shampoo/conditioner
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Feminine products
Baby body products
Diapers
Toilet tissue
Soap/lotion
Pet food
