Legal Assistance for Missouri Seniors

Missouri Seniors' Legal Helpline is a service of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Missouri's Area Agencies on Aging.
The Seniors' Legal Helpline is easily accessed by telephone or by the Internet. Older adults may be able to receive free and confidential legal information and assistance. Missourians 60 years of age and over and their families are eligible. The Seniors' Legal Helpline can assist seniors in obtaining a pro-bono attorney, a low-cost attorney, or can provide legal referrals. Services are aimed at preventing and resolving legal problems, planning for the future, and avoiding scams.
Common legal topics the Helpline handles include: power of attorney, guardianship/ conservatorship, wills and directives, financial exploitation, mediation, benefits assistance, civil legal issues, and understanding common legal terms. The legal helpline cannot assist with criminal cases, evictions due to drug related charges, imprisoned individuals, municipal cases, and fee generating cases.
