The St. Louis Public Library is proud to present Hope Lynne Price and Phil S. Dixon as part of the November installment of its Authors @ Your Library series. The events are FREE and open to the public.

 

* Hope Lynne Price discusses and signs Luke Warm. The event takes place at the Schlafly Branch, 225 N. Euclid Ave.on November 7 at 7 p.m.

Caught in the throes of a midlife crisis, Shelby Reed is disenchanted with her marriage and bored with the superficial clutter that fills her life. Desperate for a change, she is coaxed into jumpstarting her career after a 14-year hiatus. There she finds her answer in the arms of an arresting stranger who reawakens her soul and reignites her desire.

* Phil S. Dixon gives a presentation about Negro League baseball players and their Major League contemporaries. The program takes place at the Julia Davis Branch, 4415 Natural Bridge Ave.on November 30 at 1 p.m.

 

The Kansas City, Missouri, resident is a pioneer in the study of Negro League history. For the past 30 years, Dixon has recorded the African-American baseball experience with painstaking accuracy. Widely respected for his baseball expertise, Dixon has authored nine books as well as won the prestigious Casey Award for the Best Baseball Book of 1992 and a SABR MacMillan Award for excellence in baseball research.
