Mike McMillan, License CollectorFor the fifth consecutive year, Michael McMillan, License Collector, and Gregory F.X. Daly, Collector of Revenue, will collaborate on a Licensing and Business Resource Fair. This Fair was created to bring city services to the business community by increasing accessibility and time flexibility for those businesses that have been delinquent in paying their taxes. This six-hour event in the past has attracted thousands of dollars in new collections. Additionally, there are other service providers including banks and business assistance services in attendance to offer additional support.

This year the event will be held during the Back to School & Community Empowerment Festival, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saint Louis University Chaifetz Arena, 1 South Compton Avenue. This event will be the largest back-to-school event held city-wide. A collaboration between three non-profit organizations with similar events combined their efforts for one large, one-day event to serve more people. Working together are the St. Louis Public Schools, HDC (Human Development Corporation) and St. Louis Community Empowerment Foundation. More than 100 vendors will be in attendance to serve the 10,000 families and school children expected to attend.

It is the overall intent of the event to register more children and youth early and provide them with the necessary book bags and school supplies, while also giving families and businesses the resources needed to build strong and self-sufficient communities. Events will be held inside the arena and on the grounds with live entertainment, rides and much more.

The event is free and open to the public. All activities are free to the public. For more information, call (314) 589-6794.
