Renee Eichelberger Receives Award

STL CVC Director of Leisure Travel Sales recognized at Missouri Governor's Conference on Tourism

Renee Eichelberger, St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission's (CVC) Director of Leisure Travel Sales, took home an "Ambassador Award" for 2011, from the Missouri Division of Tourism (MDT). The Ambassador Award is traditionally presented to an individual who supports tourism efforts throughout Missouri, by cooperating with MDT's advertising and publicity projects for the state's attractions, and supports other efforts designed to help travelers enjoy the Show-Me State.

The annual Governor's Conference on Tourism, which was held in Jefferson City, October 11-13, drew tourism industry members from throughout the state and focuses on timely topics, educational seminars and current trends related to tourism activities and advertising.

A highly anticipated segment of the conference is the Awards Banquet, where MDT presents several service awards to exceptional members of the industry for doing more than can be expected to move tourism forward throughout the Show-Me State. Eichelberger received her Ambassador Award for the enthusiasm and commitment she exhibits to tourism-related events; locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.

According to the Missouri Division of Tourism, Renee realizes that before you can sell an individual attraction or location, you must first sell the entire state as a destination. She served on the board of several travel-related associations, is a past board member of the National Travel Association; is a current board member of the Missouri Travel Council (MTC); and is chair of MTC's Cookbook Committee and Mentoring program and is also Chair of Missouri Bank Travel MTC's successful program which is focused on attracting Bank Travel Club outings to Missouri.

The St. Louis CVC is the official destination marketing organization for St. LouisCity and County for visitors of all types. The CVC also operates the America's Center convention complex, which includes the St. LouisExecutiveConferenceCenter and the Edward Jones Dome.
