St. Louis, MO-General Assembly (GA), the global education provider has announced the launch of its newest remote campus in St. Louis to provide local workers and organizations with the skills they need to succeed in today’s evolving job market.
With a track record of training tens of thousands of adults in coding, data science, digital marketing, product management, and user experience (UX) design, GA will work with local employers and policymakers to strengthen the city’s pipeline of job-ready tech workers.
As one of the fastest-growing business and tech environments in the country, Missouri will be among the top 10 tech states within 5 years. Missouri's tech workforce is expected to grow by 9.5 percent in the next five years, ranking it ninth among U.S. states (Missouri Chamber Foundation). This move into St. Louis will address critical issues and ensure that local workers are equipped to tackle the economic challenges of today’s tech-driven world. General Assembly’s launch in St. Louis will be in partnership with the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) and Venture Café, and with support from The Cortex Innovation Community.
Otis Williams, Executive Director of St. Louis Development Corporation stated, "General Assembly's addition to the Cortex Innovation Community is a big plus in being able to provide the necessary personnel needed for the job-ready technology workforce.
General Assembly's launch will also blend well with a portion of the recently released strategy of the Equitable Economic Development Framework for St. Louis. Part of that strategy is to coordinate with WTEs (Workforce Training Enterprises) to size projected demand in the (software tech) cluster, determine roles, establish channels of communication, and maintain accountability in training workers to meet short- and long-term software tech workforce demand.
