NGA West Exceeding Workforce Numbers for Women and Minorities

St. Louis, MO– The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is the nation's primary source of geospatial intelligence for the Department of Defense and the U.S. Intelligence Community. The City of St. Louis is leading preparation of the future NGA West site, a project that began in the summer of 2016. The St. Louis Development Corporation is proud to announce that the City of St. Louis has exceeded the projected Workforce Inclusion Goal numbers for women and minorities in the current preparation phase of the project.

In addition, the city has exceeded Executive Order 28 as amended stating that 25% of the project would be completed by MBE's (Minority Business Enterprises) and at least 5% would be completed by WBE's (Women Owned Business Enterprises). With 95% of the site preparation complete, the current numbers of participation are 42.7% for MBE's and 42.2% for WBE's. 

According to a representative from the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment, "This is one of the best project in the history of St. Louis for the involvement of women and minorities."

After the site is prepared, the Army Corps of Engineers will oversee construction of the facilities on behalf of NGA. The entire project will be coordinated and connected to the many new investments in St. Louis outlined in the Project Connect Action Plan.

The City’s commitment to total NGA project includes site acquisition, preparation, and utility relocation and improvements; a full highway interchange at N. Jefferson Avenue and I-64/ 40; and enhancements to N. Jefferson and Cass Avenues. The north St. Louis location has multiple vehicular site access options, access to public transit and bicycle facilities, and can offer the physical set-backs that NGA requires.
