This is a reminder of an important change that’s happening with our cold weather outreach for the region’s homeless.

Beginning today, December 1, 2019, the City is transitioning to continuous shelter availability, regardless of what the forecasted temperature is outside. This means that every evening through February 29, 2020, the City will have shelter beds, warming buses and other outreach services available for our unhoused populations.

We expect, in partnership with our various community partners, to have available more than 1,000 beds each night. Beginning March 1, 2020, we’ll resume activating our cold weather outreach based on our new temperature threshold of 32 degrees.

If you see someone who is struggling with the cold weather, please call 911 to receive medical attention.
