Minimum Wage

The minimum wage for the City of St. Louis is the same rate as the minimum wage for the State of Missouri.

Overview

The minimum wage for the City of St. Louis is the same rate as the minimum wage for the State of Missouri. As this is adjusted annually, please visit the State's website for more information.

Please note that for a short period of time between May 5, 2017 and August 28, 2017, the City's minimum wage rate was higher than the State's rate.  However, the State passed a law to prevent all municipalities from having a higher minimum wage than the State and this went into effect on August 28, 2017.

If you have any questions concerning the City's minimum wage during that time period, then please use the contact form to email the law department.
