Description:

The figures on the south side represent Courage(male) and Vision(female). On the north side are Loyalty(male) and Sacrifice(female). The designer, Walter Hancock was a native St. Louisian at the time. The statues were part of the total design of the Soldiers Memorial. President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the site for the building on October 14, 1936, and Mayor Dickmann officially opened the doors on Memorial Day, 1938.
