Goodfellow Traffic Calming

Traffic Calming Study for Goodfellow Boulevard

Goodfellow Banner

Background

At the request of the 27th Ward Alderwoman, the President's Office of the City of St. Louis Board of Public Service has contracted with CBB to provide traffic engineering study services for traffic calming solutions proposed to Goodfellow (I-70 to Hall Ferry Circle). This is the planning phase, and the City’s engineering team tries to let the data in the report, community / elected official feedback, and financial feasibility of the recommendations guide what is implemented in the future.

Project Objective

  • Develop recommendations for reducing speeding and illegal passing on parking lanes.
  • Develop recommendations for reducing/eliminating heavy truck traffic.
  • Enhancing walking and biking conditions (all ages and abilities corridor).

Public Engagement (Ended)

Public involvement is considered an important component of a successful studying process. Therefore, an in-person public meeting was held on Thursday, September 19, 2021 at City Hope Bible Church (5868 West Florissant) to discuss some preliminary options with residents and other stakeholders. The presentation and activity boards can be found here.

If you are interested in this project but missed this meeting, please use this form to submit comments on the recommendations in the presentation and activity board. Comments are due by October 8th, 2021. After gathering public feedback, our consultant will finalize the report with final recommendations. Implementation is the next step, which generally relies on an alderman funding a future project through the ward capital program, which would likely be next year at the earliest.
