2020 Missouri Back to School Sales Tax Holiday

According to the State of Missouri Department of Revenue website, in 2020, the Missouri Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 7, and runs through Sunday, August. 9.

The sales tax exemption is limited to:

  • Clothing - any article having a taxable value of $100 or less
  • School supplies - not to exceed $50 per purchase
  • Computer software - taxable value of $350 or less
  • Personal computers - not to exceed $1,500
  • Computer peripheral devices - not to exceed $1,500
  • Graphing calculators - not to exceed $150

Information for cities, counties, and districts not participating in the 2020 Sales Tax Holiday will be updated and posted on http://www.dor.mo.gov/business/sales/taxholiday/school/ prior to the start of the tax holiday event.
