Employees Retirement System of the City of St. Louis

John Zakibe and Edmund Zell were both re-elected to the Board of Trustees of the Employees Retirement System as member-representatives for two-year terms ending March 31, 2013.

Four candidates vied for the two seats in the member election. Out of the 1,075 ballots timely received by the independent election teller, incumbents Zakibe and Zell received 744 votes and 728 votes respectively. Candidates Edward Griffin and Thomas Trares, both employed by Juvenile Court, received 296 votes and 146 votes respectively.

Walter Abell, former Street Department employee, was re-elected as retiree representative and will serve in that capacity through March 31, 2013. Out of the 1,259 valid ballots cast, Abell received 967 votes and the lone opponent, George Roberts, former Juvenile Court employee, received 286 votes.

The other three Trustees on the six member Board are Comptroller Darlene Green, Ex Officio Member, and two mayoral appointees: Freddie Dunlap, Supply Commissioner; and Edward T. Jones, former Executive Director of SLATE.
