The Comptroller's Office recently bid farewell to long-time employee Deputy Comptroller John Zakibe.  He began his career as an Accountant I in 1976 and moved up the ranks to the senior level in 2007.  "It's been very gratifying to have been there so long and have worked for so many," he said.  "I'm certainly going to miss all the people I've worked with over the years."

Zakibe's esteem was recognized through a series of farewells that consisted of a dinner celebration at Probstein Golf Course in Forest Park where Comptroller Darlene Green presented him with a proclamation; a resolution was presented in chambers before the Board of Aldermen; and finally, on Nov. 19, an in-office gathering was held for reminiscing and tributes on his last day.

"It's been a great career; I enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next phase in my life."  The location of that next phase will be Scottsdale, Arizona.
