ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY HOSTS COMMUNITY DISCUSSION GROUPS TO GAIN PUBLIC INSIGHT FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING EFFORTS

The St. Louis Public Library will host community discussion groups at five Branches to gain public insight for its strategic planning efforts.  The sessions will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the following Library locations:

·Central Library (1301 Olive St.) – March 31

·Schlafly Branch (225 N. Euclid Ave.) – April 1

·Julia Davis Branch (4415 Natural Bridge Ave.) – April 2

·Carpenter Branch (3309 South Grand Blvd.) – April 7

·Buder Branch (4401 Hampton Ave.) – April 8

Every St. Louis resident over the age of 12 is welcome to attend the meetings, including regular Library patrons and those who have not used the Library recently, or at all.

The Library, which is currently celebrating 150 years of serving the people of St. Louis, looks to shape its strategic direction in the midst of changing consumer preferences, growing digital information usage, increasing mobile access, and demographic shifts in the community.

"The Library prides itself on delivering exceptional services to our community and doing so in the most efficient ways," stated Waller McGuire, Library Executive Director. "We need the public's input in this process to help us determine the best ways to allocate resources and meet our users' needs in the future," he added.

Anyone interested in taking part in the community discussion groups can register on the Library's website, slpl.orgor call 314.241.2288.
