The year 2013 marks the 13th year that Heat-Up St. Louis has been helping the needy with utility assistance in the St. Louis region, impacting the lives of more than 300,000 needy people. There is no better way to kick off the year than with the annual Hardee's "Rise and Shine for Heat-Up" fundraiser. Last year, Heat-Up St. Louis raised more than $90,000 within a few hours, thanks to the generosity of participating St. Louisans. Monies collected in Missouri and Illinois stay in their respective communities.
Hardee's Rise and Shine for Heat-Up is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8, during breakfast hours. At that time, Hardee's will offer a Sausage and Egg Biscuit Sandwich for the special price of $1.00, and 100% of all sales proceeds will go to Heat-Up St. Louis. Each year hundreds of media, business, civic, religious and political volunteers come out as Celebrity Greeters at various local Hardee's units for at least one hour, (they can and do volunteer longer) and welcome the customers at the drive-thrus, parking lots and in the dining rooms. Last year, the event had a a record-breaking 500 volunteers. In addition, the volunteers take extra donations from the public.
