The 26th Annual Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival will take place from Nov. 2 through Nov. 12, 2017. The festival provides St. Louis filmgoers with the opportunity to view the finest in world cinema -- from international films to documentaries and American Indies to shorts.

Of particular note is the screening of For Ahkeem, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Missouri History Museum. The documentary is the coming of age story of Daje Shelton, who, after being expelled form her public high school, is sent by juvenile-court Judge Jimmie Edwards to the court-supervised Innovative Concept Academy for one last chance to earn a diploma.
