Shenandoah Elementary Pre-School Program

Shenandoah Elementary School offers a full day Pre-School Program for those children up to the age of five residing in the City of St. Louis. The program offers Pre-School classrooms that focus on early literacy development, math readiness and social skills designed to prepare the children for kindergarten and beyond.

To enroll, children must be three years old on or before July 31. Four- and five-year old children will have priority, especially those children who have missed the kindergarten cut off. There are limited spaces available for three year olds. Enrollment will be on a "first come, first served" basis with all required documentation.

Families that enroll in the SLPS Pre-School program must be St. Louis City residents. Parents/guardians must provide two forms of verification noting they reside in the City of St. Louis. The verification must include their name and current address. Acceptable proofs of City residence include: a current utility bill (electric, gas, water/sewer bill), an Official U.S. Government correspondence, or voter registration, etc. within 30 days of enrollment.

To complete enrollment, parents must bring the following:

  • U.S. Birth Certificate or U.S. Passport (Children must be three years old by July 31 with priority given to four year olds.)
  • Up-to-date Immunization Record
  • Current Physical Exam with current lab work
  • Dental Exam
