An impressive audience of more than 250 people gathered at Saint Louis University (SLU) last month to memorialize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at a special program organized by the SLU Human Resources Department. License Collector Michael McMillan served as Master of Ceremonies.
Fr. Lawrence Biondi, President of Saint Louis University, and Ken Fleischmann, J.D., Vice President of Human Resources presented awards to SLU alumnus License Collector Michael McMillan; Rev. Dr. Sammie E. Jones, Pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church; 18th Ward Alderman Terry Kennedy; and Rabbi Randy Fleisher, Assistant Rabbi of the Central Reform Congregation, for their contributions to the Memorial Program.
A special salute to the family of recently deceased Dr. Donald Brennan, professor and former dean who was known for his commitment to diversity. Their awards included special recognition by the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, Congressman Lacy Clay and the Office of the License Collector, along with a stained glass award and roses.
