Tim Jablonowski, Towing Supervisor, wants everyone to know what a great job the Towing Division is doing for the City of St. Louis. If you were watching FOX2 news the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 23 you saw firsthand the types of situations the dedicated employees of the Towing Division can face on the job. That was the morning St. Louis experienced an unexpected ice storm.
Due to the icy road conditions, a semi truck jackknifed on the exit ramp off of Highway 40/64, some 30 vehicles behind it lost control and piled into each other causing the highway to be shut down. The call was made to the Towing Division and tow operators George Hooker, Anthony Stark, Derrick Jackson, Christopher Farr and Paul Ballard were dispatched to the scene. Without hesitation they started clearing and removing one vehicle at a time to the drop point that police officers had set up so that the highway could be re-opened. With the cooperation from all of the tow truck operators involved that day and the office staff, this was just another day at the Towing Division, according to Jablonowski.
The Towing Division is a 24/7, 365 day a year operation, Jablonowski says for those who may not be aware. "So the next holiday, when you're at home with your family and it's snowing, raining, or 95 degrees, day or night, know that the Towing Division is open for business to help and serve the citizens of St. Louis."
