Latest Effort to Help Tornado Victims
Valentine's Dance Scheduled to Benefit Victims of the New Year's Eve Tornado

Last month, Mayor Francis G. Slay, United Way President Gary Dollar, and Alderman Terry Kennedy visited the historic Lewis Place neighborhood to visit with residents and to let them know about a tornado relief fund that has been set up to help the needs of the victims of the New Year's Eve tornado. A number of buildings on Lewis Place, in The Ville and in the north riverfront area of the City were either destroyed or heavily damaged during the storm. Many of our neighbors in these areas suffered great losses, some losing almost everything.
Now, the spouses and families of Local 73 members have organized a Valentine's Dance, with the proceeds to go to the tornado victims. The dance will take place from 7 - 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12 at the IAFF 73 Union Hall, located at 4271 Delor. Tickets are $20 each. Raffle tickets will also be sold.
To donate to the 2-1-1 Tornado Relief Fund, call 2-1-1 or 1-800-427-4626.
For tickets and more information about the dance, call (314) 775-5154.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
