Today, Spirit Airlines increases its destinations at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. After inaugurating service from STL with four daily flights in May and adding a fifth in June, the airline will begin service to three more destinations at 6:00 a.m. The new destinations include: Fort Myers (RSW), Phoenix (PHX) and first up this morning – Tampa (TPA). The new destinations join five other already established locations from STL which include: Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Orlando (MCO) and on a seasonal basis Pensacola (PNS).
Destination: | Flights Available: | Departure Time: |
---|---|---|
Fort Myers (RSW) | Daily | 12:05 p.m. |
Phoenix (PHX) | Daily | 10:46 a.m. |
Tampa (TPA) | Daily | 6:00 a.m. |
“We are excited to see Spirit Airlines continue to grow here at St. Louis Lambert International,” said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, STL Airport Director. “We knew these flights would be coming to our airport in May when the airline began operating from St. Louis, but it is truly gratifying to see Spirit doubling down on their commitment to this airport with the new service to three more cities.”
“St. Louis travelers know how to spot a good value, and they’re clearly excited about Spirit’s arrival at Lambert,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning for Spirit Airlines. “We saw a strong response as soon as we announced our first routes, so the decision to add more nonstop routes to fun destinations was easy to make. With low-cost flights to St. Louis’ most popular vacation destinations, Gateway City residents now have more opportunities to enjoy a quick getaway or spend time with friends and family.”
Spirit’s new schedule at STL will begin each morning with a flight to Tampa at 6:00 a.m., with the next flight to Orlando at 6:30 a.m. One last morning departure takes passengers to Phoenix at 10:42 a.m. Spirit’s lone departure in the afternoon is to Fort Myers at 12:05 p.m. While the remaining departures begin with a Fort Lauderdale flight at 6:38 p.m., a Las Vegas departure at 7:33 p.m. and the final flight of the day leaving for Las Vegas at 9:50 p.m. Spirit will add one more scheduled flight at STL to Cancun, with service set to begin in December.
The new flights starting today means STL travelers will be able to catch nonstop flights to eight cities—and connections throughout the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean—while enjoying Spirit’s famous low fares, Signature Service and on-time performance.
Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas and Orlando are three of Spirit's biggest cities, which means nonstop flights from STL come with easy connections throughout the United States. Fort Lauderdale is also Spirit's largest gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, providing access to 16 countries.
Spirit continues to seize growth opportunities as demand for air travel increases. This year, 16 new fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo planes joined the airline’s Fit Fleet™, which is among the youngest in the industry. Next year, Spirit plans to accept another 24 new planes.
