Today, St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) invited interested parties to an Industry Day Event. There attendees learned more about the Consolidated Terminal Program (CTP). St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is on the brink of transforming its passenger terminal facilities to meet customer needs and future demand. To achieve that goal, STL has developed the CTP. The CTP would combine the existing two passenger terminals that have separate concourses, as well as the isolated Federal Inspection Services facility, into a single terminal. The purposes of the CTP include:

  • Improving the passenger experience and ensure continued efficient operations at STL by providing adequate space and facilities to accommodate current and forecast passenger demand
  • Centralizing the Transportation Security Administration passenger screening areas to a larger primary location in order to provide a smoother screening process the passengers

Airport Director and CEO Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge said, “This event is critical to start the successful collaboration the airport will need to move forward with the next phase of the Consolidated Terminal Program.”

At today’s event, attendees were:

  • Informed about the Consolidated Terminal Program timeline
  • Learned about business opportunities to participate in the Consolidated Terminal Program
  • Ascertained how to become certified through STL’s Business Diversity Development (BDD) Office
  • Participated in exclusive networking for those participating

By 2040, STL is expected to reach 21 million passengers annually. To handle this number of passengers up to 17 more gates will be required. These gates will need to be suitable modern, larger aircraft. Also, the airport’s immigration and customs services should be accessible by all carriers. An updated STL will also need a new large parking garage and better roadways.
