On Friday, June 8, the Board of Aldermen paused at the beginning of their meeting to recognize and remember former Alderman Bill Waterhouse with a moment of silence.
Bill Waterhouse was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 19, 1947 and attended St. Louis City Schools. Bill was a longtime Dogtown resident and beloved member of their community. He married his wife Marie Melvin-Waterhouse on June 4, 1966 at St. James the Greater in Dogtown.
Waterhouse was an electrician for more than 30 years and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1. Waterhouse also served as Alderman of the 24th ward from April 3, 2005 to April 21, 2011.
Bill Waterhouse will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his selflessness and always putting others first, and his willingness to help anyone he could. Bill was a doting grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed.
