ST. LOUIS, MO. – Mayor Lyda Krewson today announced that she is appointing Regina Fowler to serve on the Board of Education of St. Louis Public Schools.

“I am grateful to Regina for agreeing to serve in this important role. She is deeply passionate about public education and the children of our community. Her professional experience will be a great addition that will build upon the Board’s commitment of helping students thrive inside and outside the classroom,” said Mayor Krewson.

Fowler, of St. Louis, has more than 20 years of financial management and leadership
experience, more than 12 years of human resources management experience, and more than 10 years of grant management experience.

She is a certified public accountant and grant manager who holds a BSBA in Accounting from Olin Business School at Washington University and an MBA in Accounting and Human Resources from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

“I am honored for this opportunity to serve and look forward to working with my fellow Board members as we address the many challenges facing public education and develop policies for helping students reach their full potential,” said Fowler.

In the event of a vacancy on the SLPS Board, Missouri state law provides that the Mayor of the City of St. Louis will fill any such vacancy. Fowler will serve the remaining three years of an unexpired term on the Board.
