Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for supervising the development and production of construction contract documents and the delivery of professional architectural, engineering and surveying services. Duties include performing advanced level contract/project management for public buildings, streets, bridges, alleys, sidewalks and associated environmental/hazardous materials work, preparation of bid documents and supervising a multi-disciplined staff consisting of architects, engineers, surveyors, and drafters engaged in the preparation of plans, specifications, designs, estimates and inspections for a variety of public works construction projects.

A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or closely related field from a nationally accredited college or university; plus eight years of professional experience in public works design and project management. At least three years of this experience must include working in a managerial capacity supervising project design staff.
Registration: Registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect in the State of Missouri or registration in another state with eligibility for reciprocity in Missouri.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Please note type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver’s license will be required to present a “Driving Record Check” from their State’s Department of Motor Vehicles.
Documentation of academic credentials and professional registration must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.
