Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for supervising and monitoring accounting functions for a City division or department and planning, organizing assigning and directing the work activities of subordinate staff.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related Business degree with a major in Accounting; and three years of professional accounting and/or auditing experience. At least two years of this experience must include supervising or leading/coordinating the work of others performing accounting functions. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered. VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year character investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions with the Airport Authority.
