This project involves infrastructure and safety improvements along 2.4 miles of the River Des Peres Boulevard corridor from Gravois Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue.

Project Overview

This project involves infrastructure and safety improvements along 2.4 miles of the River Des Peres Boulevard corridor from Gravois Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue.

Improvements include:

  • Widening and resurfacing of the roadway
  • Raised concrete median
  • New traffic signal at Loughborough Avenue
  • Transit stop improvements including enhanced pedestrian connections, acceleration and deceleration lanes at the Chippewa Street interchange
  • Dedicated left-turn lanes at intersections, guard rail, curve warning signage, high-friction pavement surfaces, street lighting, and trees.

Background

2nd Ward Alderman Oldenburg initiated a traffic study that was the basis of a $17.2 M Federally Funded Surface Transportation Block Grant (STP-S).

Engineering Design: 2025-2027

Public Open House: Summer 2026

Anticipated Bid: Fall 2027
