Public Safety Answering Point - PSAP Facility Construction Project
The new Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) facility will be a modern emergency communications facility engaging in 9-1-1 calls taking and dispatching functions for several city agencies.
Project Overview
In 2008 the City of St. Louis commissioned a study to review the economic, operational, and technical feasibility of forming a joint intra-city communications center that would merge operations within the Department of Public Safety. This study resulted in constructed project aimed at consolidating emergency communication operations into a single, modern facility.
The new Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) facility will be a modern emergency communications facility engaging in 9-1-1 call taking and dispatching functions for several city agencies including the police, fire, emergency medical services, the Citizens Services Bureau (CSB), and the City Emergency Management Agency (CEMA).
This vital mission-critical facility will support both day-to-day operations and emergency stand-up operations, and will coordinate and support emergency responses. The new PSAP facility will serve the City's current needs and be designed to accomodate future expansion and technological evolutions.
