TITLE: Financial Wellbeing Coach
FLSA STATUS: Full - Time, Non - Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $49,500 – $52,000
SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Employee will work in cooperation with the Director of the Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) to recruit, build and lead clients to achieve strategic performance objectives. Responsible for successful coaching and consulting client using Strategic Client Management methodologies and tools, building productive relationships with bank partners for shared client relationships, promoting the Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) and facilitating the integration of the annual joint client business planning processes.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, business administration or related field. Bilingual skills a plus. Two years of work-related experience developing and implementing financial education and instruction for adults and youth. Possess a Financial Coaching Certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment. Knowledge of financial literacy and counseling. Experience with the Financial Coaching and CRM models. Ability to work independently in a detailed oriented, organized and efficient manner. Ability to relate to others in caring manner, exhibiting professional conduct, appearance, and a positive attitude. Ability to effectively problem solve with the ability to convey suggestions/ideas in a constructive, nonjudgmental manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ideally coaching and facilitation skills with adults in a professional and courteous manner. Self-motivated with ability to work independently, met deadlines without supervision and take ownership for financial research and continued learning. Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work with minimal hands-on direction. Professional with strong presentation and meeting management skills with an ability to effectively develop and influence others. Strong contributor with analytical skills and the ability to identify and proactively communicate industry and governance trends to clients. Must possess both a strategic thinking expertise as well as an ability to plan and execute tactical actions to implement strategic objectives. Must be savvy at internal and external communication techniques and messages. Strong leadership and management skills. Ability to manage time and workload effectively including planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to details. Possess outstanding people skills and ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships. Ability to operate personal vehicle for business and possess a current valid Missouri or Illinois driver’s license and insurance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Work directly with clients to provide high-quality financial coaching through individual coaching. Schedule & coach individuals virtually and in-person. Provide continued support while actively engaging clients to promote financial wellbeing. Achieves program goals for client impact and service outputs, taking initiative with client outreach. Conduct workshops on personal finance topics and OFE services in the community and on other platforms. Work with city’s banking relationship partners to identify clients. Refer customers to the city’s banking relationship partners. Provide individual and family financial counseling services including the provision of appropriate community referrals. Maintain an understanding of current education legislation and needs related to financial literacy. Enthusiasm for serving others and the community is a must. On-going professional interaction with Treasurer’s Office executive management team, employees, elected officials, school leaders, community leaders, potential donors, banking representatives, parents, and students. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to master other software programs; ability to utilize computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting activities. Ability to stay informed of applicable federal rules and regulations. Research financial products, consumer rights and resources on an ongoing basis.
