Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for directing the daily activities of Network Systems Services personnel as well as coordinating major projects and overseeing the overall network infrastructure for the majority of general fund departments in City government.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, or a related field; plus five years of administrative/supervisory experience in information technology including some experience in network infrastructure design. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience configuring and maintaining routers/switches/firewalls. Experience configuring and operating network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, System Center, or Cisco DNA. Network certifications in at least two of the following: Cisco Certified Network Administrator (Data Center, Routing and Switching, or Security), CompTIA Network + Certification, CompTIA Server + Certification and/or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner.
