2011 Christmas Tree Decoration Competition

The Collector of Revenue Office held its annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest in December.  Three judges from City Hall were selected to review the 10 creatively decorated trees.  The judges this year were, Jan Williams from the Building Division; Freddie Dunlap, Supply Commissioner; and Sherry Wibbenmeyer from Mayor Francis G. Slay's Office.

After much deliberation, the winner of this year's contest was the Water Department's "Red, White and Blue Tree" decorated by Sherri Jones-Curry, Keena Carter, Carol Baker, Paula Venable and Sharon Sutterer.

2nd Place was awarded to The Collector of Revenue's front office tree, "The Spirit of St. Louis" decorated by Donna Small, Sheryl Fiala and Thelma Showers.

3rd Place was awarded to the Finance Department's "Winter Wonderland Tree," decorated by Sarah Carpenter, Tee Tee Radford, Kelia Bordeaux, Barb Vehlewald, Sharon Bourne, Nancy Ray, Crystal Patton and Bob Willner.

Other tree decoration themes were:  "Poinsettia Tree" in the Department of Revenue, "Victorian Santa Tree" in the Personal Property Department, "Silent Night Tree" in the Earnings Tax Department, "A Country Christmas Tree" in the Earnings Tax Department lunch room, "Sharing and Caring Tree" in Administration, "A Traditional Tree" in Earnings Business Department and the "Family Traditions Tree" in the Compliance Department.
