2018 Severe Weather Awareness Week for Missouri

The National Weather Service (NWS) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) will observe Severe Weather Awareness Week for Missouri during the week of March 4 - 10, 2018. The goal of the week is to save lives by providing basic knowledge everyone should have about what to do, where to go when severe weather threatens. The focus for each day of the week will be as follows:
Monday - Preparedness Day
Tuesday - Tornado Safety Day
Wednesday - Flash Flood Safety Day
Thursday - Severe Thunderstorm Day
Friday - Communication/NOAA Weather Radio Day
The annual Missouri Severe Weather Drill is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6 at 10 a.m. This is a good time from everyone to practice their severe weather plan. In the event of inclement weather, the backup day is Thursday, March 8 at 10 a.m.
