2020 Public Service Recognition Week
will be observed May 3 - 9, 2020
This article is 5 years old. It was published on May 1, 2020.
Public Service Recognition Week is celebrated the first week of May since 1985 (beginning on the first Sunday of the month) to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees.
Each day, millions of civil servants serve their fellow citizens, and play an important role in our Nation's communities. From the law enforcement officers and our brave men and women in uniform who keep our country safe and secure to those who work in education, healthcare, transportation, and other public service careers, civil servants ensure government works for the American people.
During Public Service Recognition Week, the work our civil servants do for the American people on a daily basis is acknowledged, and their willingness to dedicate their experience and expertise to serving their fellow citizens is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks to those in public service for their dedication and commitment to serve.
