Maria Cooley Receives 40-Year Service Pin
Brief ceremony held in Mayor Slay's Office

During a brief ceremony in the Mayor's Office last month, Mayor Francis G. Slay presented Maria Cooley of the Corrections Division with a 40-year service pin.
Cooley began her career with the City in 1972 as a Typist Clerk I at City Hospital. During her tenure with the City she also worked in Centralized Housing and joined the staff at Medium Security Institution in 1981. She currently serves as a Social Worker at MSI.
Several family members and co-workers were on hand for the special occasion, including her sister Parrie May, the City Register; her niece State Rep. Karla May; daughter Charmaine, and son Tyrone.
Several Corrections Division co-workers also attended the ceremony. See photo below.
