Gregory F.X. Daly, Collector of Revenue
In our third consecutive year, the Collector of Revenue Office collected donations from our office to benefit the USO to assist the troops at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport as they pass through during the holidays. This year we were joined by the staff and Judges from the Circuit Court to help support the cause.
Peggy Cole, a court reporter, has chaired this event for a number of years. Peggy goes on a "shopping spree" for the USO every year with money that she collects from friends and family and other benefactors such as our office to buy all kinds of goods that the USO needs for our traveling service people and their families.
Our troops make sacrifices that most of us can hardly imagine. They leave behind their friends and families to put their lives on the line for us every day. The USO works hard to share a touch of home with them wherever they serve.
This year our combined contributions totaled over $1,000 for the troops traveling through our airport during this holiday season.
Pictured is a very happy USO volunteer worker accepting our donation.
