The proposed bill pertains to the award of a grant from the State of Missouri. The bill approves the acceptance of the State of Missouri’s grant of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) for a year-around paid jobs, internships and job training for youth residing in the City of St. Louis. The bill appropriates the funds and authorizes the Director of the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment to make, negotiate, and execute any and all contracts or other documents on behalf of the City, which are necessary to expend such funds and to expend such funds for the purposes allowed by the State of Missouri. The bill also contains an emergency clause as it relates to the funding of a program.

The proposed bill pertains to the U.S. YouthBuild grant. The bill approves the acceptance of the U.S. Department of Labor’s award of One Million Two Hundred Forty-Four Thousand Five Hundred Three Dollars ($1,244,503.00) for the purpose of carrying out the YouthBuild program. The bill appropriates the funds and authorizes the Director of the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment to make, negotiate, and execute any and all contracts or other documents on behalf of the City, which are necessary to expend such funds and to expend such funds for the purposes allowed by the U.S. Department of Labor for the YouthBuild Grant. The bill also contains an emergency clause as it relates to current funding of program.

70877 Disconnected youth task force
An Ordinance for the creation of a disconnected youth task force to study the obstacles to education and employment to disconnected youth in the City of St. Louis, and requiring said task force to compile a report of their findings and recommendations to be submitted to the Mayor and a Board of Aldermen standing committee to be designated by the President of the Board of Aldermen, within one (1) year following the first meeting of the task force.
