Resolution Number 42 | Session 2020-2021

Recogniztion that Combating Racism is a Public Health Necessity

Resolution

The Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis, recognizes that combatting racism is a public health necessity and that the disparities in health care access and health outcomes in Black and Brown communities are caused by structural racism and must be reversed, and that accomplishing this will require greater investment in and the expansion of research on structural racism in health care and the development of anti-racist public health policies, and to this end we support the passage of the Anti-Racism in Public Health Act of 2020.
