Resolution Number 114 In Session 2023-2024

Hazard Mitigation

Summary

1. That, in accordance with Ordinance Number 60588, the submission of an application requesting Federal funding not exceeding 75% of the total project costs under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program is approved. The Board of Aldermen recognizes that the total project costs are estimated as of this date at $1,028,509.10. If Federal funding is approved, the City intends to provide a local match of 25% of the total project costs (which are estimated as of this date at $257,127.28) in cash to acquire residential properties situated in the floodplain within the Ellendale neighborhood. The City will support a 25% match in a greater amount in the event that total project costs are higher than currently estimated and approved by SEMA. 2. That the Board of Aldermen hereby authorizes the Mayor, or her designee, to sign, execute, and deliver the necessary documents for forwarding the project application to SEMA. 3. That the Mayor, or her designee, is further authorized, empowered and directed, on behalf of the City to execute other certificates, instruments and documents as may be necessary to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution.
