Requesting The Missouri General Assembly Strengthen The State “Circuit Breaker” Property Tax Credit
Summary
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that the Board requests the Missouri General Assembly prioritize and expedite the passage of legislation that strengthens the "Circuit Breaker" property tax credit during its 2024 Missouri Legislative Session, by expanding income eligibility, increasing the credit amount, indexing the credit and income eligibility amounts to keep pace with inflation, and modifying the phase out provisions to ensure recipients are reimbursed for a larger portion of their property taxes, and that the Board requests that members of the City of St. Louis' Missouri Legislative delegation make this a top legislative priority for the 2024 Missouri Legislative Session.
