Legislative Session Resumes with New Avenues for Public Input
Board of Aldermen return from legislative recess, announcing new public engagement tools to help residents stay informed.
The St. Louis City Board of Aldermen has launched a new meeting management system to make it easier for residents to track the legislative process.
CivicPlus’ public portal, CivicClerk, gives residents access to the Board of Aldermen’s schedule, meeting materials, and video archives—all in one place. The platform also allows residents to submit testimony online during public hearings, review meeting recordings with timestamped video segments, and keyword-search agendas, meeting materials, bills, and other documents.
The move reflects Aldermanic President Megan E. Green's commitment to making the legislative branch of city government more transparent and accessible to the public.
“These tools make it easier to access information and to get involved,” said President Green. “Modernizing how the Board works gives residents the ability to plug into the legislative process in ways that work for them.”
The Board has also extended its contract with Go Vocal (formerly CitizenLab) to create more opportunities for residents to participate in the decision-making process. Initially used to solicit public input on the Rams settlement fund, the platform has been expanded to include ways for residents to submit their own policy proposals and provide feedback on projects happening in their wards.

The 2025–2026 legislative session resumes tomorrow, Friday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. Prior to the legislative recess, President Green called several special sessions to pass bills related to tornado relief; the Board of Aldermen will continue to prioritize relief and recovery as it returns. This session, the Board is also expected to take up legislation on accessory dwelling units, comprehensive zoning reform, and investments in North St. Louis using the Rams settlement fund.
