Ward 7 Request for Letter of Support

Alderwoman Sonnier provides letters of support to constituents in the 7th Ward. For projects that utilize City streets or property or events that need a special event permit, a letter of support from the alderman is required. For new businesses seeking a liquor license, a letter of support can expedite the necessary paperwork from various departments. For development projects requiring a conditional use, a letter of support can demonstrate community backing for the project.

Please complete the following form with as much information as possible; the details you provide will help Alderwoman Sonnier better understand your proposed business, project or event. Please note that Alderwoman Sonnier values community engagement. Alderwoman Sonnier strongly encourages you to meet with the relevant neighborhood association before requesting a Letter of Support.

Please note that requests submitted with less than 72 hours' notice should also be emailed directly to Alderwoman Sonnier.

You will receive a notice that your request has been submitted.

Alderwoman Sonnier's office will follow up once the application is completed, or ask for additional information if it involves multiple departments. Dependent upon the business, project, or event timeline, you will receive a support letter or denial within 3-7 business days.
