Information on how to join the City of St. Louis Medical Reserve Corps

Overview

A volunteer team of medical professionals who help existing medical infrastructure during an emergency. MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals, such as physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, and epidemiologists.

Who Can Volunteer? 

Practicing, retired, or otherwise employed medical professionals, such as doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, pharmacists, physicians' and nurses' assistants, mental health professionals, public health professionals and others.

Preparation

If you are interested in joining the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), download the MRC Application. You are also encouraged to register with Missouri's online system, ShowMeResponse.org. See the "Additional Information" section on this page for further details.

  1. Complete the City of St. Louis Medical Reserve Corps Application
  2. Mail your application to:

What to Expect

Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers will have the opportunity to receive orientation and training, which will be helping to build a strong and prepared volunteer resource base that can then be rapidly activated during an emergency to help your friends, family and local community.

Additional Information

Medical Reserve Corps members and medical professionals are encouraged to register with ShowMeResponse.org, Missouri's advanced registration of volunteer healthcare professionals database.

Registering with ShowMeResponse.org does not obligate you to participate, only increases you capacity to volunteer by notifying you of a need for healthcare professionals in your area.

When you register, follow these steps to be added to the City of St. Louis volunteer registry. 

  • Click "Add Organization"
  • Expand the MRC Organization tree by clicking the plus sign next to it
  • Select "St. Louis City Medical Reserve Corps
  • Press the Select button in the lower right corner of the window
